These and many more were part of the value gained at the Young Patriot Conference YPC organizad by Florix Concept in partnership with BeInspired Show, Mudia Hub, Graceville Pharma and other notable brands held on Friday and Saturday, 16th and 17th of August 2019. It had in attendance great leadership icons such as;
Tom Obaseki, Jamie Pajoel, Prof Jerry Orhue, Alex Osagie, Dennis Erikkson and Dr Andrew Akhabue – Lead Organizer
With the theme, “Beyond Leadership: The Power of the young”
Eminent issues and subjects as pertaining to building great minds and a society that works, such as Leadership Skills, Personal Development, Digital Skills and Entrepreneurship was thoroughly dissected by experts in the various field.
They were Coaches and Coaching.
The YPC event had a unique setting of ten groups, with a minimum of 10 participants in each group all headed by great Coach.
Each group had different societal problems and challenges they diagnosed while proffering handy practicable solutions to these vices.
Team Jasper lead by Mercy Omoregie, founder of BeInspired Show won the grant price of the second position with the team focused on “The Blind Judicial System in Nigeria, Developing a Cleaner System.”
Members of the team, Benny Ojuyah, Andrew Igbineweka, Biose Nonye, Miracle Akwudiwe, Usman Baseerah, Blessing Osaghe, Austine Ugwuozor, Frank Odigie and Daniel Ohimai, working together highlighted numerous challenges facing the Nigeria Judicial System of Government;

Excess delay in the process of seeking redress. Falsification of documents, false sworn affidavits etc. Inadequate security of judges and case witnesses. Constitutional ignorance on the part of the masses. Lack of autonomy.
Outlining practicable solutions, Team Jasper proffers there should be a thorough
Review of the constitution itself in such a way that every citizens via their regional zone and/or seneterial district fully participate in making the law that governs them.
Creating a platform for constitutional awareness is also key to the success of the judicial system. When citizens really know their rights and things that pertain to justice in the land, the judiciary can be forced to apply and interpret the law correctly. On this, team Jasper proffers that an online platform be built to help simplify the terminology of the law and be made accessible and available to every Nigeria citizens. The team also proposed that part of the duties of corp members on the mandatory National Youth Service Corp NYSC should be compulsorily going out to primary schools, market women association, public bodies and Non government organization, engaging and sensitizing them on what the constitution entails.
Unnecessary delay and red tape should be seriously avoided. This is because the time consuming regulations and excessive paper work prevents progress and leave many cases untouched for so long. “Why should my grand father had to die without getting justice on a case that spent over 8years in court? And why should someone not be tried in court but yet detain in prison for years?

Adequate Autonomy should be granted to the judiciary so they can discharge their duties without fear or favour. An independent body should be solely responsible for nominating the Chief Justice of the federation and subject to the confirmation of the legislative.
All judicial personnels must be persons of sound character and unquestionable integrity. They must have been tested and trusted. Past records of every perspective judicial member should be thoroughly scrutinized and find trust worthy before they are sworn in as members of the judiciary.
However, the team also posed that the Judicial system should indeed be blind. Blind to status and personalities, blind to partiality and favouritism. Blind while serving justice equally to both the poor and the rich.
The Young Patriot Conference was undoubtedly powerful! Knowledge gain was transforming, The networking was top notch, recommendation of participants to organizations by trainers and facilitators was on point. The YPC 2.0 was indeed a success. Kudos to Dr Andrew Akhabue, founder, Florix Concept and Convener, Young Patriot Conference, as well as every member of his team. We look forward to the next edition in grand style.
