Welcome to Entrepreneurship Monday on BeInspired Show
Without wasting time, our first feature on the show is about a girl, a girl entrepreneur, and how she impacted my life. Her name is Amaka Igwe. Older folks may be familiar with her. If you are not, let me brief you about her. She was a film maker and broadcasting executive, specifically with TV series and soap opera. Her popular movies include “Checkmate” and the comic “Fuji house of commotion”
Amaka Igwe was an industrious and excellent girl entrepreneur. She was hard-working, resourceful and creative.
So, why are we talking about her today?
I first got to know her in late 2018, (just last year) in the book “The Girl Entrepreneurs” a gift given to me by the Author, our profound First Bank Chairman and CEO of “The Chair Centre Group” Ibukun Awosika.
While I read her story, I connected with her so well as I felt here was a girl already doing something similar to what I would love to do with my life.
Speaking through the lines of the write up, she was so active. I could feel her energy. I could see her in my mind bubbling and jumping here and there.
She was real, she was lovely. I felt her physical presence trying to make sure I understood why I must hold my destiny in my hands. Why I must rise and shine, why I must live the life of my dreams. I was inspired by her story, her boldness and confidence. I knew I needed to be closer, I knew I needed to follow through her story every single time.
Thank God for social media, So I ran straight to Instagram, typed Amaka Igwe and saw the hashtag for her name. I was disappointed. This older generations, why don’t they believe in new media? She certainly is not on Instagram but have had many tags.
I still wanted to take a look, so I clicked. I saw the first post, the second and the third, then it dawn on me; Amaka Igwe is no more. My heart shook! I shivered…. How can she die? Why will she die?
I saw her in the pages of the book. She spoke to me, her presence was strong and alive. Oh no she can’t be dead. Yes she isn’t!
Amaka Igwe lives on, her works live on, her words still speaks. And this is true because I met her three years after she slept in the Lord. And I’m excited that I met her. She is an inspiration. Powerful, Bold and Industrious. I love her.
Now to us… What are you doing with your life presently? Are you going yo just die the day you die? Are you only satisfied with your life just because you own a car or because you built a big house? I do not even know if Amaka Igwe drove a big car, perhaps she did, she certainly should. But that’s not why she lives on.
She found her path, she followed through it and gave her best to it. And now she lives on. A legend! Forever changing lives positively, forever an inspiration!
Whatever it is that you do now, you must find your path through it, you must be the best that you can be, you must live the life that you were made to live.
A life of fulfilment, a life of excellence, a life of reaching out, a life that is good. The life of your dream. Live the life and live on….
