A Teacher’s Fairy Tale – Not like it
She wears a blue gown that flows like one a bride wears on her wedding reception , with a mini hand that falls slightly down her shoulders. A white stripe crosses round the dress and folds like a rose in front, just below her breast.
Her black and obviously expensive weavon is packed behind, enjoying the generous breeze that still finds its way to it despite the scorching sun accompanied with blade and fire lashing grievances to her chocolate skin which seems destined to glow.
She desires to walk fast and at least reduce the time she spends under the torture of the weather, but her carriage, one she has developed over the years, walking like the Queen Elizabeth II of England would not let her do otherwise. She hopes that help will come, and like her guardian angel heard her, a voice brings her to consciousness.
“Hey lady, going down the street? I could drop you off”. The driver of a black SUV nicely asked Vivian as he slows down, whining down at the same time.
“Emmm.. Thanks”. was her response, even though she knew she badly needed that ride.
“C’mon, I don’t bite, the gentleman said, fluting his smiles. “emm, ok then, thank you”.
Door unlocked, Vivian opens and swaps in. “Good afternoon..”, she says slowly, fixing her seat belt.
“Johnson, that’s my name. Good afternoon”. Johnson drives on, almost not looking at her.
“Guess what? This is my first time here, he said a bit excitedly. Guess you live down here?”
“Emm.. Not at all, just emm, going to see a friend”
“Cool, your boyfriend?”
“Ohh, it’s cool, just a bit courteous, so I know where to drop you”
The dual smile, Vivian bending her head slightly as silence breaks in like one telling them to wait for the next phase.
“Can I know what you do, even if I don’t know your name?” Johnson breaks the silence, nodding his head about like he is preparing to dance.
“My name is Vivian, I’m a Teacher.”
“Woow ohh… Vivian’, he takes the first long look at her. Not like it!”
“How? She softly asked, turning to look at him”
“Well, let’s just say, you look well fed, like you are your own boss”. Both smile. “So what school do you teach? I should send an application”.
Vivian smiles. “Briton School”. She says smiling.
PS: Following Johnson’s statement “You look well fed,” Do you think all Vivian does for a living is Teach?
- Yes, Teachers earn enough to look well fed
- No, I think she has other source of income
- It has nothing to do with her job. Maybe she has a rich boyfriend.
