The Kaduna kidnap saga just got worse and has escalated. The abductors of the 17 students from Greenfield university, Kaduna have threatened to kill the students if the state government fail to comply with the 100 million naira ransom. The said amount is to be paid on Tuesday, the 4th of may 2021.
The parents of the victims whose names have been withheld due to fear also explains that asides the 100 million naira charges, a sum of 50 million naira has already been paid over the weekend with promises for their release also made. The leader of the bandit had said that the paid 50 million naira was used in feeding the victims.
In addition to the N100 million naira, the bandits also made demands of ten new motorcycles before the end of tomorrow Tuesday, May 4th, in event of failure, they will have no choice but to exterminate the remaining 17 students in their custody.
On the 20th of April, the bandits invaded green field University located around the Abuja-Kaduna highway, and fled with 23 students after killing a staff of the said school.
Seven days later, the bandits killed five of the abducted students in two batches
Sani Jalingo, The leader of the criminal gang was quoted to have said these during an interview in the Hausa Service of the Voice of America. There are 17 students in his custody presently, including a grandson of the late Emir of ZZazzau Shehu Idris.
